Aqualyx is developed for the non-surgical reduction of localised stubborn fat pockets under the skin. It is an injectable, gel-based aqueous solution, which dissolves fat and is biocompatible and biodegradable.

Aqualyx is a specially formulated compound solution which is injected into the problem area.

It works by attaching to fatty deposits, breaking them down overtime. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body. Results are effective and minimally invasive. 

Aqualyx can be used to treat almost all small deposits of fat.

The best candidates for aqualyx are those that are already at or close to, the weight they would like to be. Aqualyx is not a weight loss treatment. It is advertised as ‘body contouring’ so it is perfect for any stubborn areas of fat that you have, even when you are your ideal weight.

Aqualyx is not recommended for patients suffering from acute or chronic skin disease, autoimmune disease, diabetes or severe allergy. As well as pregnant and breast feeding women.

We will discuss your concerns and what you want to achieve. We will then assess the area to be treated and measure and mark the fat areas - during this time we can discuss the best treatment plan to achieve the results you are looking for.

The treatment uses needles to administer the solution into the fat deposits. The discomfort associated with fat dissolving is minimal.

The areas injected may be slightly red, bumpy and swollen. This will subside in a few days.

Its recommended to have between 2-5 sessions to see a significant effect.

Treatment for fat pockets underneath the neck and chin, for example will take between 1-3 treatments on average. While fat pockets on the hips and thighs may require about 8 treatments.

Swelling can last for up to a week and can be more obvious on the face.

Apply pressure for up to 72 hours post treatment to reduce pain.

Massage is advised for 2-3 weeks post treatment.

Swelling can be reduced with the use of a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and applied for a maximum of 20 minutes.

Do not use any anti-inflammatory medication for 48 hours.

Do not apply makeup or skincare to the treated area for 12 hours.

For 3 days avoid extreme temperatures, swimming pools, saunas and spas

For 10 days avoid physical exercise.

For 14 days avoid laser, cryolipolysis, radio frequency treatments.

The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to 8 weeks post treatment.

Numbness to the area is also normal post treatment and feeling will return approx 4 weeks later.
